Here are the details about the content that will be presented throughout the four days in Tuscany with Dr Steve Williams and Dr Robert Melillo.

Dr Steve Williams, DC, DICS, FICS, FRCC(paed), FBCA

Introduction to cranial motion and basic cranial manoeuvres, including a component involving visceral adjusting to stimulate vagal function.

There will be a focus on cranial techniques to vitalise the cranio sacral system and specific techniques to stimulate individual brain areas including cerebrospinal fluid (CFS) directing.

Dr Steve will cover in this first section cranial function and basic cranial releases.

He will further look at early predictors of neurobehavioural disorders and developmental delay and will also cover how we can intervene early to improve outcomes.

One of the most important things we can do to decrease inflammation in children with neurobehavioural disorders is to ensure good elimination habits.  We will look at how we can stimulate parasympathetic tone and how we can use visceral corrections to manually stimulate gut function.

Specific cranial techniques to encourage vitalisation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood into specific brain areas will also be covered.”

Robert Melillo MS, DC, PhD, DABCN, FIBFN-CDD

This course will go way beyond the basics of Developmental Functional Neurology. There will be some review but most of the info will be new information based on Dr Melillo’s extensive research. In these few days we will be covering a variety of topics, some of it will be reviewing a few of the key basic foundational information around developmental functional behavioral Neuroimmunology. We will also present some advanced information revolving around functional neuroanatomy and neurophysiology , especially around the brain's role in autonomic and immune regulation. We will also discuss in detail new research on what is happening in the autistic/ADHD brain and how it relates to language delays or abnormalities. We will focus on the question of why a child with ASD may not speak or why there may be language delays. We will also review in detail research mechanisms of action and practical application of many of the most cutting edge tools that Dr melillo is using in his office like TENS, Transcranial, laser protocols, vagal stimulation. We will also review updated research and applications like Primitive Reflex integration, coactivation and hemispheric assessments and interventions. We will also present cutting edge neuroimmune and lab assessments and new approaches to autoimmune conditions. We will go through detailed explanation of the interaction and functional neuroanatomy of the immune system, the autonomic system and reviewing some new protocols that have been added to the Melillo Method.
